2019 Cosplay Showcase

Interested in Cosplay? Come join us for the 2019 Cosplay Showcase! Cosplayers are Makers and we want to display your skills and projects in a hand-made prop and costume showcase at the Maker Faire. This will take place as part of the exciting presentations happening on the stage from 12:30pm to 1:30 pm.  Anyone and everyone is invited to strut their stuff in their original costume pieces and have the opportunity to share their passion behind the art.

Registration for the cosplay showcase is to be completed the day of the event via a sign-up sheet at the emcee’s table. Registration must be completed before 12:15pm, and all registrants must report to the stage at 12:30pm for the presentation. Entry into the cosplay prop contest does not have an additional cost, but all entrants must purchase admission to the Thanksgiving Point Mini Maker Faire. Each participant will have a limited amount of time to present their prop/accessory/costume. The amount of time is dependent on the number of participants in the showcase. Please use this time to explain to the audience how you made your prop and what inspired you.

  • Your prop must be an accessory or accent to your persona that can stand on its own. It must be able to be hand-held.
  • No purchased or pre-fabbed items (props should be minimum 75% original work).
  • You must be the primary maker of the prop you are entering.
  • You need to be able to show your prop, in person, at the Thanksgiving Point Mini Maker Faire, September 21st.
  • Costumes that may be confused with local law enforcement or other Emergency Response Personnel uniforms are not permitted at the event.
  • No real weapons of any kind are allowed.
  • No realistic gun props are allowed.
  • All props must conform to state and federal law.
  • Projectile costume props must be rendered inoperable.
