REGISTRATION: Registration for the cosplay contest is to be completed the day of the event. A registration station can be found at the general information booth at the event. Registration must be completed before 11:45am, and all registrants must report to the stage at 12:00pm for judging and presentation.

ENTRY: Entry into the cosplay prop contest does not have an additional cost, but all entrants must purchase admission to the Thanksgiving Point Mini Maker Faire.

PRESENTATION: Each participant will have a limited amount of time to present their prop/accessory. The amount of time is dependent on the number of participants in the contest. Please use this time to explain to the audience and judges how you made your prop (see judging criteria below).

JUDGING: Judging will take place on stage immediately following the presentations. At this time, judges will take a closer look at all of the props. Judges will award points based on the judging criteria below.

  • Quality
    • Our judges will look at stitching, material and fit (where applicable) of your prop/accessory. If you have compiled your prop from things found around the house, we look at how you modified them, how you paired them and how creative you were.
  • Accuracy
    • We will be checking how faithful your prop is to the prop you are portraying. Please print a picture of the prop. Do mention any variations or specific versions you took into account. If your prop is not modeled after an existing prop, mention at least a point of reference or inspiration.
  • Effort
    • We will try and determine how hard each person had to work to complete the prop. Make sure to tell the judges how long you worked on your accessory and point out details that required effort to complete.

  • Grand Prize: Family membership to Thanksgiving Point, 2 movie tickets & Trophy
